New President
At the Union's AGM on 29th March 2017 Bob Thorp of Sand Moor Golf Club was appointed The Union President for 2017. Bob congratulated outgoing President Jack McKee of Pontefract & District Golf Club on his successful year. He also welcomed incoming President Elect Charlie Brown of Temple Newsam Golf Club and President Designate Mike Gallagher of Scarcroft Golf Club.
The meeting was attended by 57 members from the Union's 30 Clubs.
Mick Fisher of Garforth Golf Club, the Union's Junior Organiser during its most successful 3 years, stood down at the meeting. Paul Browning, Low Laithes Golf Club was elected to succeed Mick.
Also, Alistair McIlroy of Wetherby Golf Club stood down from the Executive after 14 years, serving as the Union President in 2010 (and as he said - the last time the senior team won a trophy!). Alistair's wise counsel will be sorely missed.
The draws for the Inter Club Scratch KO, Inter Club Foursomes KO, Inter Club Nett KO, and Inter Club Junior KO were made.
