Junior OOM R9

Cookridge Hall hosted Round 9 of The Copier Company Junior Order of Merit with 48 players participating.

The weather was fine and sunny interspersed with short rainy squalls. This did not deter early starter Saul Guilford (Moor Allerton) from posting a brilliant gross level par 72, the best score of his career. Saul's nett score of 65 was for most of the day the score to beat and - would you believe it - the last group of the day produced a nett 63 from home player Carys Macdonald to win the Ipad prize.

Saul won the Copier Company NIKE wedge for the best gross and his performance earned him a place in the Leeds 12 man Junior team to play East Riding on 21 August.

Runner up in the gross competition for Order of Merit points was Cameron Owen (Oulton Hall) on 75 with Jamie Dunion (Moortown) third on 76 by virtue of a better back 9 from Jeehvan Singh (Cookridge Hall).

Runner up in the nett competition was Saul Guilford on 65 with Josh Osborne (Wike Ridge) third in the Order of Merit points with 67.

In the Copier Company OOM standings the leaders in the Gross competition are unchanged although Jamie Dunion gained 10 points on leader Nathan Ali (Cookridge Hall).

In the nett competition, Harley Scott-Ellis (Wike Ridge) maintains his lead on 366 points.

Next week the competitions are at
