Leeds Juniors secured a resounding win against York played at a sunny and immaculate Sandmoor. The Leeds Juniors are usually slow starters and, historically, have never fared well in the morning foursomes. All this changed when they accomplished a score of 10 - 2. This foundation proved crucial as York came back strongly in the afternoon singles but couldn't quite overcome such a large deficit. Good performances from the Leeds lower order proved invaluable as Leeds took the singles 14 - 10, resulting in an overall score 24 -12.
Debutants Bradbury and George Heath from the Wakefield Golf Club played well and both had a 100% record. Todd Hughes of Mid Yorkshire Golf Club realised every golfers dream with a hole in one at the 15th.
