Simon Hurd (Cookridge Hall) won the Leeds Open at a fog affected Cookridge Hall. The Competition Committee reduced the competition to 27 holes owing to the weather. 6 players were tied on 70 after the morning round. Hurd was an early starter in the afternoon and he returned a score of 33 to finish on 103 to win both the Swaine Trophy and Leslie H Bakes Salver for the leading amateur. Paul O'Donnell (Cookridge Hall) and George Pennells (Cookridge Hall) put in a strong challenge to finish second and third, both shooting 105. Ben Hutchinson (Howley Hall) finished fourth on 106.
