Round 11 of The Copier Company Junior Order of Merit saw 35 golfers from the Union compete at Cookridge Hall in blustery and trying conditions. Young Jake Wallis (Oulton Hall), one of the later starters, shot a gross 78 off a handicap of 7, with a back 9 of level par, to claim 100 Order of Merit points on countback from the Cookridge Hall trio of 2017 OOM Champion Nathan Ali, James Trant and Charlie Smith.
In the nett competition, Teddy Semple (Wike Ridge) carded a 69, beating club mate Maclain Simpson by one stroke. Amelia Wormald (Cookridge Hall) was one stroke behind in third place on countback from Jake Wallis, Amaan Iqbal (Wike Ridge) and Benjamin Waite (Oulton Hall).
In the race for the coveted Copier Company Golf bags the situation at the top of the gross leaderboard is closing. Cameron Owen (Oulton Hall) retains his lead on 410 points but Daniel Lee (Sand Moor) is only 5 points behind with Nathan Ali a further 5 points behind.
In the nett competition, Maclain Simpson (Wike Ridge) has 411 points with club mate Amaan Iqbal on 333 points in second. Jake Wallis (Oulton Hall) is third on 294 points having played one competition fewer.
