Junior Stroke Play Championship

The Union held the Junior Stroke Play Championship at Normanton on 2 August 2021. 36 Juniors competed for 3 trophies. The course was in superb condition. The last group out (Nial Langley-Brook, Oliver Cage, and Tai Naylor) produced some stunning golf and all 3 were playing to level par or thereabouts. It was not until the 18th when Tai Naylor (Waterton Park) triumphed with a fine score of 71 to edge out Oliver (Moortown) and Nail (Waterton Park) by one stroke and so claim the W H Fenton Trophy and also claim maximum points in The Copier Company Junior Order of Merit.

In the nett competition Rafael Young (Leeds Golf Centre)  carded a brilliant 64 to win the Headingley Trophy by 5 strokes from Oliver Roberts (Normanton), Danny Jones (Horsforth) and Freya Power (Cookridge Hall).  Rafael also gained maximum points in the Nett Order of Merit

Freya also claimed the Judy Raynor Cup for the best nett score under 15 years of age.

The top 8 gross scores qualify for the Junior Match Play Championship the draw can be found here
