Finals Day

The Union held its Knock Out Finals at Howley Hall on 28 August 2016.

In the Foursomes Final the Wakefield pair of Daniel Bradbury and Andy Stringer played some superb golf to defeat the Cookridge Hall pair of Tom Broxup and Tom Madden 4 and 2 to win the F W Nettleton Salver.

The Scratch Final between Waterton Park and Wetherby resulted in Waterton Park winning The Past Presidents Cup for the first time. Mick Higginbottom beat Jacob Schur 4 & 3, Damian Simpson beat Will Bartlett 2 & 1, and Gordon Owen beat Matty Pearson 2 & 1.

The Nett Final between Leeds and Scarcroft resulted in Scarcroft winning the John Smiths Cup. Johnny Rea beat Charlie Bonnor 5 & 4 Jamie  Hutchinson beat Richard Ellam 3 & 2 and the match between Jonathan Goodall and Ian Dalby was halved.

 The Junior Final between Cookridge Hall and Low Laithes was a very close affair. Alistair Bagnall of Low Laithes beat Jeehvan Singh 5 & 4, whilst Nathan Ali of Cookridge Hall beat Dominic Robinson by the same score. The final match between Adel Watt (Cookridge Hall) and Cameron Spur finished on the 18th hole, Cameron recovering from a 3 hole deficit on the 13th to win on the 18th. Low Laithes win the Junior Knock Out Trophy 4 & 2.
