LEEDS & DISTRICT UNION of GOLF CLUBS

October Alliance

The October weather was kind at Selby Golf Club which was in excellent condition providing a perfect venue for a record entry of 200 golfers. The two tee start from 7:30 in the morning worked perfectly with all competitors doing their part by maintaining a good pace of play.

The early leaders from Lofthouse Hill with 91 points were beaten late in the day by the Garforth team led by the club Captains John Dexter supported by Mick Kilbride, John Langshaw and Peter Claricoates with a score of 91 points but a better back six hole score of 32 points.

The top five teams won prizes and full results are on the Website.

Congratulations to John Macmillan together with David Long and his team for organising and administrating the event with a 12 hour stint after arriving at Selby at 6:30 in the morning.
