Charity event
The Union held its Charity Event at Wakefield Golf Club on 20 July 2017. The course was in magnificent condition and the early morning rain did not deter the competitors from posting some good scores.
The event raised in excess of £1,500 for the Leeds Childen's Charity with 33 teams from 13 clubs taking part.
The first team out from Normanton of Mark Griffiths, Tony Smith, Des Lawson, and Dean Mountain posted a brilliant 15 under par score of 129 considering they suffered the worst of the weather.
Also in the prizes finishing runners up were the Garforth team of Mike Webster, Steve Britton, Barry Hilton and George Rooks with a score of 132 on countback from the Temple Newsam quartet of Steve P Broome, Dave Exley, Steve Broome and Steve Rawlings.
