KO Finals
The Union held its Knock out finals day at a sunny Cookridge Hall Golf Club.
Winners of the F.W.Nettleton Trophy for the Inter club Foursomes were Scarcroft Golf Club, represented by Steve Cain and John Rea. Scarcroft beat Horsforth represented by Shaun Ryan and Dave Vine on the 18th hole.
The Nett final was contested by Selby and Barnsley. Selby (Messrs Crawley, Webster and Dudley) triumphed 4 - 2 over the Barnsley team of Stables, Dyson and Heathcote to win the John Smiths Breweries Trophy.
The Wakefield Junior team of Bradbury, Heath and Guest won the Junior Trophy against the Temple Newsam team of Smith, Barbour and Thompson.
Finally, in the Scratch final, the Pontefract team of Mufya, Wiltshire, and Coumbes beat the Wetherby team of Jackson, Pearson, and Perkins to win the Past Presidents Cup.
Congratulations to all finalists. The golf was played as golf should be played.
