Broxup wins Leeds Amateur Championship
Tom Broxup (Cookridge Hall) shot a superb 67 (5 under par) to win the Leeds Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Normanton GC by 3 strokes from Jamie Dunion (Garforth) and Billy Snowden (Moortown). In 4th place was John Rea (Scarcroft) who finished level par 72. Tom duly claimed the John Keightley Trophy.
These four will contest the Leeds Amateur Championship, Tom playing John at Sand Moor, and Jamie playing Billy at Scarcroft.
The Match Play final will be played at Moortown on 20 September
In the nett championship the evergreen Maurice Ludwell (Pontefract & District had a brilliant 64 to claim the John Robshaw Trophy. Maurice finished 3 strokes clear of Billy Snowden
