NOVEMBER 2018 NEWSLETTER
We have now completed all competitions for 2018 and the Fixture list for 2019 will be on our website www.ldugc.co.uk shortly. You will receive your 2019 Fixture Card listing Officials and Fixtures for 2019 immediately after our AGM in late March 2019.
COMPETITIONS RESULTS 2018:
The Team Invitation at Headingley G C on Thursday 29th March where 42 Teams competed was played in tough conditions and the top scores were very close with a Darrington team winning with 86 points beating a Howley Hall team on a back 9 countback.
The Associate Members Spring 4BBB Meeting on Wednesday 2nd May was at Leeds G C with an entry of
74 pairs. The winners were Chris Pennington (7) & Mark Hodgkinson (11) from Scarcroft with a score of 44 points one better than three pairs on 43 points.
The Summer Team Event at Garforth G C on Thursday 7th June, with an outstanding entry of 54 Teams, was won by a team from Scarcroft with a score of 93 points with a Temple Newsam team with 91 points in second place.
The Summer 4BBB Meeting at Scarcroft G C on Thursday 28th June with an entry of 84 pairs was won by Adam Squire (5) & Tony Broadhead (15) from the home with 47 points 1 better than three other pairs.
The Team Event at Woolley Park G C had 37 teams competing. A mixed team from Selby and Scarcroft members won with 96 points.
The Autumn 4BBB Meeting at Cookridge Hall on 23rd August where 68 pairs competed and was won by Ron Thompson (13) & Stuart Purves (16) of Scarcroft G C with a very impressive score of 48 points followed by two pairs on 47 points.
The Members Autumn Team Meeting at Howley Hall G C on Thursday 13th September with 52 teams was won by a team from the home club with a score of 92 points, Ken Lawrenson (9), Dave Hobson (10), John Richardson (15) and David Taylor (15) beating a team from Normanton on a countback.
The final Associate Members meeting was the Team Invitation at Waterton Park G C on 4th October Again we had a good entry of 38 teams with the team from Moortown beating a team from Low Laithes on a countback each with 92 points.
We have had 97 new members to the Associate Members Scheme so far in 2018 and look forward to a similar number joining in 2019. If you know any members of your Club wishing to join our Associate Membership Scheme please advise them that details of the scheme and application forms are available on our website www.ldugc.co.uk.
Can I please ask that if anyone changes their Golf Club in the New Year that you please advise me so that we can ensure our records are kept up to date?
