LEEDS & DISTRICT UNION of GOLF CLUBS
1. Clubs entering will be divided into 4 Divisions and will form the League.
2. At the end of the season promotion and relegation will be two teams from each Division when possible.
3. In the case of a tie for Championship, promotion or relegation, then these positions
will be decided by:
The number of game wins then
The number of away game wins then
Least game losses
Least away game losses and most away game points.
4. A Club Team will consist of THREE players.
5. Each Club shall play a home and an away fixture as laid down in the fixture list.
6. Fixtures shall take place on Monday evenings as set out in the fixture list commencing at 17.30 hours or at a time mutually agreed by the two Captains
concerned. If it is not possible for the home club to host the fixture on the day, the fixture must be played within 7 days. The responsibility for arranging
this rests with the Team Captain of the Home Club.
7. All fixtures to be played from scratch over 18 holes in accordance with the R & A Rules of Golf for Match play.
8. Points will be awarded for each game in each fixture - 2 for a Win and l for a halved game, making a total of 6 points for each fixture.
9. Only the Team Captains can decide whether a fixture should be postponed or suspended (after start of play, in accordance with Rules of Golf) and in
the case of postponement the decision must be made on the first tee at 17.30 hours or later, on the day of the fixture. Any fixture postponed due to
inclement weather or the state of the course should be notified to the LDUGC League Secretary before the 22:00 hours deadline on the date of the
original fixture. A fixture postponed due to inclement weather or the state of the course should be played within SEVEN days where possible. In the
event of this not being possible the League Secretary should be notified within SEVEN days of the original fixture, and in exceptional circumstances
only, a date should be proposed and mutually agreed with him when the fixture will be played. In the event of teams failing to play or rearrange a
fixture postponed within the stipulated period, both teams shall be awarded no points. When a fixture has started and has to be suspended, in
accordance with the Rules of Golf and can not be completed on the same day any game completed shall be awarded the appropriate points, any
unfinished games shall be considered halved. Fixtures shall not be rearranged.
10. If a player fails to be present at the time fixed for the game he shall be recorded as having lost.
11. To decide the order of play the Captain of the Home Team will present his team list to the Visiting Captain who will arrange the games. The Captain
of the Home Team will supply score cards and local rules.
12. A player may represent only one Club in any one season.
13. Disputes must be communicated to the League Secretary prior to 17.00 hours on the day after the date of the fixture. This must be followed by a
letter to the Honorary Secretary of the Leeds & District Union of Golf Clubs within 7 days of the date of the fixture. The decision of the Executive
Committee regarding all disputes shall be final.
14. It is the responsibility of the HOME CLUB to immediately notify the result of a fxture (names and scores) to Mr. Alan Webster by e-mail to:
leaguesecretary@ldugc.co.uk but before 17.00 HOURS on the day after the fixture is played.
15. Failure to comply MAY result in the deduction of ONE POINT from the HOME TEAM.
16. If a team fails to turn up for a fixture it will be given written notice that if it re-offends it will be immediately eliminated from the league
and all results involving that team will be expunged. The Club will be required to make application to rejoin the league in the following
season prior to the 1st September for Executive approval and, if accepted, the team will resume in the lowest Division.
