LEEDS & DISTRICT UNION of GOLF CLUBS
The Executive Committee of the LDU met at Normanton on 17th September, attended by 14 members.
Key points arising from the meeting:
The Union awaits with interest the views and intent from Yorkshire regarding the County Golf Partnership
The Union finances are in a healthy position following excellentsupport in Associate Members Competitions
The Meeting discussed the scheduling of fixtures for the elite players where, this season, competitions on 3 successive weeks in May and June placed an undue demand on 'scratch' golfers. The schedule for 2014 will take these concerns into account.
The meeting confirmed that 'Finals' will be held on the nominated date in the Union calendar
Tony Greenhalgh reported on a disappointing season for the Scratch Team but is encouraged by the emerging talent from the Junior ranks
Plans are being formulated by Mick Fisher to run some coaching courses for Juniors in late October/ November.
The next meeting of the Executive will be held on 13 November 2013
The Council meeting (for Club Secretaries, Captains and Union Representatives) will take place on 26 November 2013
