Scratch v Royal Navy
The scratch team defeated the Royal Navy in the season's warm up match at Cookridge Hall. The morning foursomes played in a light drizzle resulted in the home team moving into a 3.5 - 1.5 lead.
Matches in the afternoon singles were tight affairs for long periods before Leeds edged ahead and ran out 7.5 - 2.5 winners.
The match was Bob White's last as secretary of the Royal Navy Golf Assocation. Bob has been involved with the Association for the past 25 years, the last 3 years as secretary.
To mark the occasion, President David Johnston presented Bob with a LDUGC sweater.
