The Leeds Stroke Play Championship Cookridge Hall Rules

All competitors must hold a WHS Handicap Index


For the Scratch Strokeplay Championship the Handicap Index limit is 9.0. 


For the Nett Strokeplay Championship the Handicap Index limit is 24.0. However, the Handicap Index limit for age group prizes is 28.0. 


The competition shall be limited to 72 entries. In the event of an entry in excess of 72, there shall be a ballot of the higher handicap entrants. 


Each player must have submitted a minimum of 6 fully completed competition 18 hole round score cards acceptable for WHS handicap purposes in the 12 months before the day of the competition to qualify to win a prize.


The Union reserves the right to amend tee times.


No refund if entry is cancelled within 7 days of competition.


Competitors are expected to keep pace with the Group in front. Slow play will be monitored and may result in disqualification.


In the event of a tie for the Scratch Championship, a further 3 holes of stroke play shall be played. If the scores are still tied, play shall continue until a hole be won. All other places in the play-off shall be declared joint runners-up.


The top 16 in the Scratch Strokeplay qualify for the Leeds Amateur Championship 


The competition shall be played in accordance with the current R&A /USGA Rules of Golf and the local rules of the club upon whose course the event is being played. Full details are available in the Tournament Rules and Regulations.
