This Competition is a Stroke Play event over 18 holes from Scratch.
The Competition shall be open to playing members of affiliated Clubs of the Union. Entrants shall be in possession of a WHS Handicap Index. The competition shall be limited to 72 entries. In the event of an entry in excess of 72, there shall be a ballot of the higher handicap entrants.
In the event of a tie for the Scratch Championship, a further 3 holes of stroke play shall be played. If the scores are still tied, play shall continue until a hole be won. All other places in the play-off shall be declared joint runners-up. All other ties shall be decided on the basis of Regulation 7.
The event winner returning the lowest score shall be the Stroke Play Champion and receive the John Keightley Trophy and a prize. The player with the lowest Nett Score will be the Nett Strokeplay Champion and receive the John Robshaw Trophy and a prize. There shall be prizes for runner-up and such other prizes as may be decided by the Executive Committee.
