Stephen Pullan wins the Open Championship for the second time.

On a fabulous golfing day at Sand Moor Golf Club home Professional player Stephen Pullan won the Swaine Trophy for the second time having won in 2010. After 7 holes in the morning round he was 7under par but his lack of competitive golf resulted in him dropping shots and still finishing the round with a creditable score of 69. This left him trailing George Pennels(Cookridge Hall) and Liam O'Neill with scores of 67.

Stephen started the second round with the same aggressive golf in the first 6 holes being 5 under par but only dropped 3 strokes to finish with a 5 under par total for the 36 holes of 137. Nick McCarthy(Moortown) chased hard following a first round score of 69 and just failed with another excellent score of 69 to finish 1 behind on 138.

Howley Hall player Tom North won the Leslie H Bakes Trophy for the leading amateur player with third place and a score of 140. Tom played the last the last 8 holes in 6 under par to secure the trophy.

Steve Pullan and Tom North receive their trophies from LDUGC President, Bob Thorp.
