Junior Strokeplay Championship

An encouraging entry of 60 Junior golfers contested the LDU Junior Strokeplay Championship at Leeds Golf Club last Friday with our Junior Captain, Dan Bradbury (Wakefield) winning the W.H.Fenton Trophy beating Nathan Ali (Cookridge Hall) by 1 stroke with a 1 over par gross score of 70 on a testing day. Jamie Dunion (Moortown) finished 3rd with a score of 74.

 

The best Nett score on the day and winner of the Headingly Cup was posted by Holly Rowntree (25) (Horsforth) with an excellent nett score of 61 beating James Ashworth (20) (Moor Allerton) nett 63 into 2nd place with Oliver Cage (15) (Horsforth) finishing 3rd with nett 63. 

In addition Holly also took away the Judy Raynor Trophy as the leading Under 15 year old player on the day.

In the Over 16 year old category the best nett score was posted by Sheridan Linley (13) (Templenewsam) 66 nett with Jamie Dunion finishing 2nd with nett 67.

The trophies were presented by The President and Leeds Golf Club Captain Graham Pearce.
