LEEDS & DISTRICT UNION of GOLF CLUBS
We are proud to say that on a dreadful golfing day on Wednesday 5th December over 100 intrepid golfers wrapped up against the elements and tee'd off at Scarcroft in a shotgun start to play and support the Leeds Childrens Charity Xmas Alliance. The Scarcroft Greenkeeper and his staff did a fantastic job all morning by moping up on the greens to make play possible which was appreciated by all players.
Four hours later thoroughly wet but not downhearted they changed clothing and sat down for an excellent Christmas Dinner and were welcomed and congratulated by President Charlie Brown and the club Captain Bob Wingate. Prizes were given to the winning teams and many raffle prizes handed out.
The focus was then turned to the auction of Vouchers kindly donated by member clubs and thanks to the generosity of the players we raised over £3,880 for the Charity.
On behalf of the Charity and the Union can I please convey our thanks for your support once again.
