LEEDS & DISTRICT UNION of GOLF CLUBS
The Wilkinson Sword and Copier Company Junior Order of Merit R7 was held at Leeds Golf Club on 19 August. 25 youngsters contested for the Sword of whom 13 were from Leeds Union clubs.
Amaan Iqbal (Sand Moor) carded a gross 74 to win the Sword and earn 80 Order of Merit points. Amaan moves up to second in the race for the Copier Company stand bag and claret jug with 179 points, 6 points ahead of third placed James Trant (Moortown) and 17 points behind leader Bailey Hird (Cookridge Hall).
In the nett competition, local member Henry Ellam finished on 69 to earn 80 points. Benjamin Waite (Howley Hall) leads the way in the race for The Copier Company ball bag and claret jug with 195 points. In second place Amaan Iqbal joins T Barnes Grimes (Moortown) on 162 points.
