Leeds & District Union of Golf Clubs

Coronavirus causes cancellation of L&DU Fixtures until 1st May 2020

Here is a copy of the letter sent to all LDU Clubs today:

''Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have closely monitored the advice availab‚Äčle from International, National and Regional Golf bodies, along with that given by HM Government and despite our willingness to try and run competitions we are unfortunately having to cancel all Union Fixtures until 1st May.

We will reassess the situation based on future advice, In particular the ability to play Scratch , Net and Junior League matches due to start from 12th May,and  keep you informed of developments.

An email has been sent to the majority of players who are included in the Draw for the Associate Members Team Invitation which was due to be played at Leeds Golf Club on the 26th March, but now cancelled. All cheques will be destroyed and payments by Bank transfer will be refunded as soon as possible as our Treasurer is in Turkey on a golf trip!

A Poster is attached for your Notice Boards to convey the news to members with our apologies. It may be some time before we are able to run events but the wellbeing and safely of all golfers is most important.

Kind Regards

John E Grimbleby

Honorary Secretary
