Leeds Juniors played their final league match of the season against East Riding on 20 August at Darrington. Both teams had won all of their previuos fisxtures so it was a real top of the table clash. Paul Browning fielded a strong side and the stage was set for the title decider. The home side were quick out of the blocks and secured the morning foursomes 10 - 2 to provide a healthy cushion going into the afternoon singles. Leeds fine form continued and despite early pressure from East Riding who took 6 of the first 8 points on offer in the singles the home side clung on to win the singles 14 - 10 and realise a match result of 24 - 12 and so win the League for only the second time.
Paul Browning and the whole squad take great credit for a superb season and can now look forward with confidence to the 6 man team championship at Crosland Heath on 26th August.
