The Union held the Junior Individual Championship and Copier Company Junior Order of Merit (JOOM) at Darrington on 3 August 2025. The competition was also a Justin Rose qualifying event. Calvin Klein sponsored the event with prizes of baseball caps and bag towels.
The strong winds proved a challenge to low scores. In the Nett Competition Rory Mountain (Moortown) was the only person to beat par with a score of 38 Stableford points to win the Headingley Trophy. He also won the Judy Raynor Cup for the best score for those under 15 years of age.
In the Gross Competition Grace Gill (Garforth) scored 34 points to edge out club mate Sam Mcintyre by virtue of a better back 6 score and so wim the W H Fenton Trophy.
Sam leads the JOOM Gross Competition after 3 events with 210 points, 20 points ahead of Jack Emmingham (Waterton Park).
Freddie Linfoot (Woolley Park), the 2024 winner, leads the JOOM Nett Competition with 195 points. Zachary Shearsmith is second on 167 points.
There are 5 JOOM events remaining. Wetherby on 10 August and Leeds on 11 August are the next two. Get your entries in.
