Wetherby, Woolley Park, Cookridge Hall and Howley Hall Golf Clubs were perfect hosts for the 2025 Finals of four Club Knockout competitions which started back in April. Members of the Leeds Executive were out in force to administer and act as referees for the sixteen matches involved in producing worthy champions. Here are the results and presentation photographs of the winning teams:
Cookridge Hall won the Scratch Knockout title by beating Horsforth 2-1 and were presented with Past Presidents Cup. This left Freddie Linfoot from Woolley on the 18th hole with Max Walton and the match all squire. Freddie holed his put for a birdie 2 to win the match .
The Nett KO Final at Cookridge Hall was won by Scarcroft Golf Club who beat a well supported Gotts Park team 4-2. Steve Wheelhouse from Howley came from a 3 hole deficit to half his match on the 18th with John Lloyd and take the match into extra holes. Steve had to take a penalty drop from behind a tree on the 19th but found the green and holed his putt to take the match to the 20th. Although both players were on the green in two strokes Steve came up short with his putt and John finished the match with a birdie from 6 feet.
